JobTracker is a mid-market auto-apply and tailoring tool that trades some control for speed. It works best for candidates applying broadly, and less so for a small number of hand-targeted roles.
Verdict: JobTracker handles volume well, but auto-apply quality and pricing tiers vary — pick one that matches how many roles you actually target.
Pros
Automates the repetitive part of applying — searches, fills, and submits
Tailors your resume to each posting's keywords with AI
Saves hours a week vs. manual applying on job boards
Cons
Bulk auto-apply often submits mismatched roles if preferences are loose
Many tools gate the best applying behind credits or per-app fees
Outbound volume can feel spammy to recruiters if overused
Results depend heavily on how well your profile is pre-filled

# JobTracker: Manage Job Applications with Ease
...
I quickly discovered that spreadsheets weren't the right tool.
So I decided to build something to help me manage my applications instead.
As I started working on it, I realised I could create something a spreadsheet never could: an assistant that helped me stay organised, showed me where I was in my job search, and reminded me what needed my attention.
I've been using JobTracker throughout my own job search.
Whenever I found myself thinking, "I wish this could do...", I added it.
Every feature exists because I needed it first.
One of the first features I added was the Review Dashboard.
It appears when I log in each day and tells me about upcoming interviews, applications that need following up, and anything overdue for review.
I didn't expect it to become one of the most useful parts of the application, but it's the feature I rely on the most.
After relying on JobTracker to manage my own job search, I started wondering whether it could help other people too.
So last week we opened JobTracker as a public beta so other job seekers can try it, tell us what's useful, and help shape where it goes next.

I keep seeing people fall for fake job offers.
Here's a habit that would've saved them.
Job scams are getting more convincing.
People are receiving "acceptance" emails for jobs they never applied to, or offers riddled with inconsistencies they don't catch because they can't remember what they actually applied for.
The fix is almost embarrassingly simple: keep a spreadsheet.
Every time you send your resume, log it.
Company name, date, job title, where you applied, the recruiter's contact info, and the status.
Takes thirty seconds.
Here's why it matters.
When an offer lands in your inbox, you can check it against your own record instead of your memory.
If the company isn't on your list, or the contact email doesn't match what you originally applied through, you've caught the scam before it costs you anything.
I built one for myself and it's changed how I approach every application, not just for catching scams, but for actually staying organized in a search that can get chaotic fast.

Some job postings appear to be mass-produced, sent out across dozens of completely unrelated roles, just to collect resumes and personal information.
A few signs I've started watching for:
1. Vague, copy-paste mission language that could describe literally any company.
2. Pay that is unusually high for the experience level required, sometimes by a lot!
3. Oddly specific phrasing shows up , “if you a have criminal record, encouraged to apply" line shows up.
4. Worth a quick gut check: is the pay realistic for the experience level asked?

I send over my resume and then I'm asked to work with an outside professional to develop my "pitch", brand statement and/or personal SWOT analysis.

A recruiter told her she needed a new resume, then connected her with someone who could redo it for a fee.
She paid.
What came back was, by her account, worse than what she'd started with.
Then came the actual ask: pay again, this time for "access" to a job.
She said no and walked.
Good for her.

If you're job hunting right now and a "recruiter" asks you for a fee, that's not a red flag.
